Can you require a group picker type customfield using Script Runner

Can you require a group Picker type field ?  I need to require the group Picker type field based on another customfield.  I am getting this error in my script runner Behavior Script

cannot find matching method com.atlassian.crowd.embedded.api.group#setRequired(Boolean)
