Can we restore the user's initials on the profile pictures if none is set?

Can we restore the user's initials on the profile pictures if none is set? The current default pictures are worthless and we can't tell people apart on issues or on the board.

The previous version of Jira before this UI refresh showed the user's initials if the user did not set a profile picture. That was much more useful.

Hi Isaac,

Currently, it's not possible to set the avatar that shows users' initials.
We have a feature request suggesting the implementation of this ability:
