Can we mark a delayed-to-be-ready task with another color? Either to it or to its timeline. Thanks!

The answer will depend on what type of project you are using. Is it Team-managed? Company-managed? Jira Work Management/Business?

The type of project (Company vs. Team) is specified at the bottom of the navigation pane on the left.

It's a team-managed project

Team managed projects do not yet support setting colors for cards on the board, but you can comment/vote on that change request here:

John also asked if it was a Jira Work Management/Business project. This is another categorization of the project - Work Management/Business, Software, or Service Management. It should say which of these it is at the top of the navigation pane.

That can also make a difference as to what options are available.
