I see my team has a Software board and the split view is very convenient, I currently have to go into each request in JSD cloud to view details.

Currently, boards are only available for Jira Software.
You can create a board for a service desk project, but it will be linked to your profile and not the project. To create this board, click on > View all boards > Create board > Select Scrum or Kanban > Board from an existing project > Add a name > Select an SD project and select your profile > Create board.
Also, instead of using the queue to see the tickets, you can go to the main page > Issues and Filters > Search issues > Filter and tickets and select the detail or list view on the right side.
