Can we change the "Create Issue" to something else(some other name)

1. In our Jira we have Create Issue option, so can we customize this "Create Issue" to some other name say "Create Release"

2. Can we change default field "Issue Type" to something else while creating issue.

Hi Siva,

1. no, you can't change the name of the this. "Issue" is the generic term for all issue types.

2. you can add more issue types to your project:

• create the new issue type here: http://<your jira url>/secure/admin/ViewIssueTypes.jspa
• add it to the issue type scheme which is used in your project: http://<your jira url>/secure/admin/ManageIssueTypeSchemes!default.jspa 
• there you can also set the default issue type for your project
