Can the "Transfer to" status move an issue into a different project?

I would like to create an easy way to move tickets into a different project. Preferably by changing the status type. Is there a way to use the "Transition to" to move the issue into a different project or something similar?

I know about the move button but would like a quicker more visible option.

No - Move is a separate function because it needs to take into account the potential of transitioning the key, issue type, workflow status, and other metadata that may not be straightforward.

In fact, it is not best practice to regularly move issues from project to project.  Instead, Jira is designed to encourage creating new issues and linking.

Adding to what @Mark Segall Jira Cloud does not currently natively support automating the Move function. It is not available under Automation Rules, nor in the REST API.
