Can't add Epics to my Story tickets

Hi,

I can't add some of the epics to my story tickets. When I try to do so, it says "You don't have permission to edit issue ...". However I can add some of the epics to my story tickets.

The Epics you cannot add as parent to your story, are they Epics from another Project?

No, these epics are not from another project. Also, I seem to be the only one on the team who can't add some epics to the story.

Are these stories all in a specific status?

No, they are not.

Does it happen consistently no matter what Epic you try to add to a specific story, or does it happen only for certain Epics regardless of the the Story to which you try to add them?

If it happens for certain Epics regardless of the story to which you try to add them, then are all the Epics in the same status, and is that status different from the Epics that you can add to stories?

I just checked again. it seems that if an Epic ticket is not assigned to me, I can't add the epic to my story ticket. I only see this difference between epic tickets that I've checked.

An epic is assigned to me -> I can add this epic to my story ticket

Epic is assigned to someone else -> I cannot add this epic to my story ticket (message: "You don't have permission to edit issue ...")

Epic is unassigned -> I cannot add this epic to my story ticket (message: "You don't have permission to edit issue ...")

Are you able to edit Story issues that are not assigned to you?

It sounds like the permission scheme for the project has been set to limit who can edit an issue, with one of the allowed editors being the current Assignee.

Yes, I can edit any Story issues that are not assigned to me.

It is possible that a Workflow Status property has been used to restrict who can edit the Epics when they are in particular statuses. Are the impacted Epics all in the same status?
