Can an external widget / iframe be displayed on a JIRA dashboard

We have an external widget that displays release information that updates fairly frequently.  On the dashboard for my team, I display the widget, but how I do it is a bit cumbersome.  I screenshot the widget and then paste the screenshot into the description of a dummy JIRA ticket.  On my dashboard, I have a Filter Results widget that displays only the description for the dummy ticket, and sometimes I might update the screenshot a few times a day.

I noticed recently that in JIRA tickets, an iframe can be added to the ticket.  I did this in the dummy ticket I use and the external widget does update there, but there is no way to display that iframe in the ticket on my dashboard in the JIRA Filter Results widget.

Is there a way to add an iframe to the description of a ticket, or is there a JIRA dashboard widget that could be configured to display our external widget?
