Hi!
Can someone from Atlassian please comment on the following Jira Cloud ticket? https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-81601
For a while now, the Atlassian Cloud Change Announcements have included a Coming Soon announcement titled: "Retiring the possibility to manage the atlassian-addons-project-access role".
The last line of the post tells us to raise concerns by commenting on a public ticket (JRACLOUD-81601). Several customers have raised concerns in the comments on that ticket (as instructed), but no one from Atlassian is responding.
I think it's been nearly 6 months (Sep 2023) since an Atlassian has engaged in the comments!
So again, can an Atlassian please comment on that ticket? It's frustrating that the weekly change announcement tells us to engage with that ticket when no one's actually monitoring it. :-(
Follow-up: I eventually submitted a support ticket (PCS-272699) asking for an Atlassian to investigate and follow-up. As a result, the following update was just posted yesterday in JRACLOUD-81601:
Atlassian Update – 9 April 2024
Hello everyone,
We appreciate your feedback and comments. Please be assured that we're diligently examining the use cases outlined in this ticket.
At present, we've decided not to proceed with the removal of this role until we have a deeper understanding.
The upcoming App Access Rule functionality appears to be the ideal solution for some of the use cases mentioned. We're also investigating options for more refined app control.
Kindly continue monitoring this ticket for further updates.Thank you.
