Hi everyone,
I’m looking into whether it’s possible to configure Jira to allow users to create tickets anonymously. The goal is to provide a way for people to report safety issues and accidents without needing to log in or reveal their identity.
Ideally, this would:
Allow anonymous or non-authenticated users to submit tickets
Capture key details about safety incidents or hazards
Maintain security while still protecting the reporter’s anonymity
Has anyone set this up before?
Are there native Jira features that support anonymous issue creation?
Would this require using Jira Service Management, portals, or third-party apps?
What are the best practices for balancing anonymity with spam prevention and data quality?
Appreciate any advice or examples—thanks!
Hi @SianS and welcome!
If you have Jira Service Management you can set up a form via the portal. Otherwise it sounds like Jira Forms could be a good solution for you. You can publish a form accessible for users without a Jira license and capture the information in a work item.
You can check out the details here
Let me know if this helps!

You can do this using the work item collector, it allows you to set a default user as the reporter. You other option would be to open up the space for everyone on the web, but you would then open a security risk, so I would go the collector route.
