Hello,
I have created some automation rules for some status transitions in Jira but we have lots of projects and I don't want to recreate them so many times.
Is it possible to automate rules on Multi-projects instead of Single Project? We are Using Jira Software Server and data center 9.4 (not Cloud). If yes, could you share the steps?
Thank you
Hi @Gloria Pop
Welcome to the community.
Yes, this is possible.
You need to be Jira admin to achieve this, if you are not ask your Jira admin to change the scope of the rule you created.
Be aware that setting the scope to global or to multiple projects, also only Jira admins are able to make changes to the rule.
See KB article here (the article seem for Cloud, but same applies to server/DC)
Hello, thanks for the reply !
I have requested this from our Jira Admins, but I was let know that this is not possible on Jira DC, but only on Cloud...

That is not true.
I have both Cloud and Server/DC instance and this can be on both.

Hi @Gloria Pop and welcome to the Community! You absolutely CAN use automation rules for multiple projects. Simply select the appropriate scope on the Rule Details section of the Rule. HTH

Hi @Laurie Sciutti ! My Scope defaults to the project I'm currently in, and I cannot change it. I assume this is a system level setting that I would need to request from my Jira Admin? Do you know the name of the setting so I can be specific? Thanks!

Yes only a Jira admin can change the scope of an automation rule, to have is set on multiple projects or all projects.
The Jira admin can go to the setting Global Automation in the System part of the Jira administration. there the Jira admin can see all the automation rules in the system.
The admin can then change the value of the specific rule to Multiple projects, give the list of project to the admin, the rule should act on.

My mistake, you where not the creator of this question on the community.

@Marc - Devoteam I'm not the OP, so I don't think I can accept your answer as the solution? I just shared kudos, though!

FYI -- Andrea cannot accept your answer as they are not the original poster of the question in this old thread.
Kind regards,
