I'm new to a company, and all product teams share the same "project" in Jira and just create team boards for each product team off of the single project. I just created a new board for a team, however, I want to modify the workflow for this new board. I notice under board settings, I can move to a simplified workflow. If I move to the simplified workflow for this new board will it affect the entire workflow for the project and thus all boards associated?
Simply put, what I'm hoping for is to stay within the constraints of creating a board in a shared project and then setup my own workflow (using the simplified workflow) for this new board. I want to make sure I'm not going to break anything for the existing project and associated boards by doing that!
Hello Tyler,
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Just to be technically clear, boards don't have workflows. Issue types have.
So, if you would like to change just one board for a simplified workflow, maybe one option would be to use a different issue type and apply a simplified workflow for it.
Then, you can use it on your board, does it make sense?
I hope this helps, Tyler.
Cheers,
Carlos
Yes, this helps! Thanks, Carlos.
