Trying to setup an email notification to notify me when a specific JQL query returns results. Normally, the query should not return results. I cant find instructions for this anywhere. Is it possible?

I don't think this is possible. But you can create a filter with a jql and schedule the notification to be sent to you at a certain time.

Look at the subscription section.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.

You can setup a subscription on a filter. Leave the checkbox unchecked for
"Email this filter, even..."
