We have quite a lot of cards on our Kanban board, and some of them have comments. It would be great if we could display on a card if it has comments or not. So we would know if there are more information on the card that we need to look at.
We are have a next-gen project.
Is there a nice way of doing this?
Hello Erlend,
Welcome to Atlassian Community.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to customize the Card's layout in JIRA Next-gen, so it is not possible to add new fields (informing if there are any comments in the ticket, for example) to the card view.
In fact, the Next-gen template was designed for those users who felt overwhelmed by the complexity of JIRA Classic template and requested a simpler option, straight to the point with fewer options of customization.
We have a feature request to implement this functionality here:
Ability to customize cards in next-gen projects
Feel free to vote and watch the suggestion to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.
For now, I would recommend you to use a Classic Project of JIRA to achieve this goal, where you can add a custom field to be filled when any comments are added to the issues and configure it to be displayed in the board Cards.
let me know if you still have any questions.
Thank you for the answer. Will probably follow your advice and use a Classic Project.
