Can I create two different views organized in different columns but that share tickets automaticall?

Ariana Gala Novo Ebis June 12, 2023

I have a project that includes a Dev team and a Customer team. I want to have one column per status for the dev team and then a simplified version for customer team (for example backlog+in progress+approval testing+done), but I want the same tickets to appear on both sides.

Is it possible?

Hello @Ariana Gala Novo Ebis

This would require having two Boards associated with the project.

Are you working with a Company Managed project or a Team Managed project? That information will display at the bottom of the panel on the left.

Are you working with a Software project? In that same left side panel, at the top of the panel where the Project Name is shown, does it say "Software project" or nothing at all directly below the Project Name.

This is simple enough to do for a Company Managed project. It takes some additional steps for a Team Managed project.

It's a company managed software project

Then you can go to your current board view for that project and use the Create New Board option to add another board.

That starts the Board creation wizard which will walk you through the selections for making another board.

In that board you can use a different Status-to-Columns mapping than your original board, so you can present a simpler view for your Customer team.

I already created two different boards, but the tickets are not replicating. How can I make them appear on both sides at the same time + keep updated when status changes?

The issues that will appear on the board are determined by the Filter Query used by the board. Are you using the same Filter Query for both boards?

Click on the ... button in the upper right corner of each board and select Board Settings. The select General. Then scroll down to the Filter Query section.

Check if they are using the same named Saved Filter. Check if the JQL of the filters being used is the same.

If the queries and JQL match, please provide screen images to demonstrate what you mean by the issues are not replicating.

Are both boards Scrum or Kanban, or do you have one of each?

They are both kanban, this is what I see under the settingsCaptura de pantalla 2023-06-13 113820.jpg

It appears that the filters are the same.

Can you explain what you mean by "the tickets are not replicating."? What exactly are you observing and how does it not meet your expectations?

Providing screen images to help illustrate the differences would be helpful.
