Can I archive a Story in NextGen ?

Deleted user March 18, 2019

We use NextGen

We have a Story that we now realize we will never work on; it was in a Sprint and I moved it back over to the Backlog.

Is there a way to archive it, to get it out of the backlog?

Thanks

Dwight

Just mark it done with a resolution of “won’t do”.

What does "won't do" mean?  Is this feature (archiving a Story) not available??

Thanks

oh...wait. this is NG project which does not have the Resolution field that is available for Classic. The Resolution field allows the user to select that reason for marking the issue Done, e.g. Done, Won't Do, Cannot Reproduce, Duplicate, etc. Unfortunately you don't have this in NG. I recommend you simply mark it as done w/ a comment explaining why it was moved to done.

There is not "archiving" feature defined for stories in Jira. Again, in Classic some folks have achieved such either via the Resolution field or a dedicated status. I prefer the Resolution field but it depends on your needs. If moving to Done is undesirable, consider moving to Classic.
