Can 2 teams share a project space?

New to Jira and I have 2 teams working off of the same Backlog. Both teams run Kanban but run on a different cadence. Is it possible to run them out of the same space with 2 different Kanban boards, or does it make more sense to have different project spaces for them? If different project spaces is the answer, where does the Backlog live?

Brand new 2 Jira and these are the first Kanban teams I'm setting up, so please give detailed instructions if you have a suggestion.

Thanks in advance!

 Hello @Leslie Howell ,

Welcome to Atlassian Community …!

In Jira project Boards are Nothing but views to show all the issues in Horizontal (Swimlanes) , Columns (Statuses).

You saying that 2 different teams are working on Backlog from same Project.

I'm assuming that , you created 2 different Kanban boards for the project.  did you used same board filter for 2 Kanban boards.

If Yes, all the issues are shown on both boards.

If not , How you differ Kanban Boards.

In confluence

You can create a Space (Project Name). under this you can follow something like this.

Thanks.

yes, they can use the same project. You have a lot of options for how you set up the project to make that work.
For example, you could divide work based on components, or you could create a custom field that includes the team name(s) and then make kanban boards that use the custom field to determine work visibility.

If the teams have very different workflows, then it probably makes more sense to use separate projects - but again, that's just a matter of how you set things up.
