How do I change the CREATE button back to the default UI where I can select project , issue type from a drop down list and not have to click on the icons in upper left hand corner?   This new view is also more condensed than the original view

Thank you @Gabriela - LeanZero  .. When I open the More actions "Always open in this view" is OFF, I toggle to ON, close the modal, click Create again and still no change.  Thanks

I got the full form wrong in my first answer. It doesn't carry the dropdowns. All expanding does is add the rest of the fields underneath, and the space and work type stay up in that header line in both views, so pinning full form wasn't going to give you what you asked for.

What brings the labelled Space and Work type dropdowns back is the site-wide revert, and that one does need a Jira admin. Settings > System > General Configuration, then Edit Settings, and set Simple Create as Default to off. Atlassian's wording is that it applies to the entire site, so everyone goes back with you.

If the toggle also isn't holding for you, Kanad Dagaonkar from Atlassian posted on that article that a fix shipped, and asked anyone still seeing it to reply there so he can chase it.

Hi @Laura_Whaley, that's the new Create modal. Quick Create became the default when it started rolling out to Jira Cloud sites mid-July, and the old full form with the dropdowns is still there behind the expand icon.

To make the full form your default, open it, then More actions (•••) inside it and toggle on Always open in this view. No admin rights needed.

Site admin gets a bigger hammer. Settings > System > General Configurations, set Simple Create as Default to off, and the whole site reverts.

That toggle wasn't saving for people early in the rollout. Atlassian shipped a fix on 14 July.
