Burndown Chart for to track Bugs being fixed/closed out

I recently joined a new project, and I'm trying to create a burndown chart in JIRA for a large list of Bugs (defects) that are being tracked. I have a list of bugs (for a given project) and I'm trying to show progress (weekly) of these bugs being fixed and closed out. 

How should I go about doing this?

Hi @Charles Curry 

Burn Down charts in Jira is associated with Sprint Reports. To get a burn down chart you need to start a Sprint in Jira Software project.

For your use-case I suppose a simple chart which shows Created vs Resolved Bugs should be sufficient.
