I've noticed a bug with the jira feature for bulk updates.  In my search results there are 7 jiras when it goes to the progress screen to perform the updates it has a count of 20.

This can happen if sub-tasks are part of the selected issues.

The most obvious case is when you have searched for 7 issues, but there are 13 more issues that are sub-tasks of them and you have selected "delete" - Jira wants to delete the sub-tasks too because they're part of the parent issues.

But it could easily be something else (including a bug).  Could you look at the query that gets the 7 issues, and then one of the issues that should not be included when bulk-editing - what's the difference between that and one of the 7.  (When I say "look at", I mean "show us", assuming nothing jumps out as a good explanation when you look!)

i was performing a bulk update on the assigned fix version and also on transitioning the jiras from one state to another.  They are jiras that have subtasks.  Neither of those operations were observed to modify the sub-tasks of those jiras (story jiras btw)

Ok, that helps me to understand what you're seeing, but not quite enough as I need.

Could you share the query you are using to select the 7 issues?  And then one of the 13 issues that should not be in the query?
