Bulk edit multiple projects

I'm looking to change category and permissions for multiple projects. I was thinking about doing a bulk edit but can't query based on project level. It seems that queries (using the issue search function) only work on issue level.

Does anyone have any ideas how I could do this without having to buy a plug-in?

You can use the REST API to update de project category

You can also use this REST API to assign permission scheme to a project
