Hey Jira Community,
I am reaching out here to get some solid help from the community as well as guidance on how can I can start my process on creating various project tracking under one program.
I would like to get few questions answered.
1. There is a Project that we are running at a big scale in my company that has multiple programs in it, I am looking to create a workflow for each program to be able to track as well as create visualizations to present when needed.
2. Would the work management template help with my requirement?
3. Are there any documentations and videos that I can look at to be able to get started on this creation.
Hello @Meghana Ramesh
I understand that you have a large project, which has multiple programs running as a part of it and you wish to track all of it together.
In Jira, separate projects are usually created for tracking such programs as each is unique and might have separate requirements.
To completely understand your problem statement, some more details would be required.
If you track all these programs in a single Jira project, they would need to be treated as different issue types, which is not an ideal implementation.
In order to comment if the work management templates are ideal or helpful, details on the use case would be required. The Jira Work Management, provides templates for functions like HR, Finance etc; does your use case pertain to any of these or is it related to software development?
In my opinion, it would be helpful if you think about setting up separate projects for each program. With this kind of set-up, program-specific requirements would be better catered to. In case you need to report consolidated status to senior management, appropriate dashboards can be created for this.
Lastly, documentation is available from Atlassian which is extensive and can help you get started. These can be referenced from here.
Please accept the answer if this helps solve your query else respond and allow others to share input.
