Bugs creating Flow/Your recommendations

In my previous work, the Flow was not ok.

Our QA noted the bugs on the task's card by adding the bugs via app (with check-bocks).

Sometimes the app simply does not work or we have a mass working on fixing and reports on the same cards.

So now I am working on another solution. I think this one is better.

Here is the screen:

It could be a simple option but the best for me.

Kindly have a look, is it ok to link the Bugs with the task?

Hi! 👋

Yes, linking Bugs with the related Task/Story is usually a good approach and I would generally recommend that over keeping bugs only inside a checklist or comments.

The main benefit is visibility: when a Bug is its own Jira work item, you can track its status, assignee, priority, comments, estimates, reporting, and history much more clearly. Linking it back to the original Task/Story keeps the context without hiding the bug inside another item.

Jira supports linking work items exactly for this kind of relationship, for example using links (f.e relates to, is caused by/causes, blocks/is blocked by) depending on how your Jira admin has configured link types. 

My recommendation would be:

• Create each real bug as a separate Bug work item

• Link it to the original Task/Story

• Use a clear link type, not just a generic one if you have better options

• Agree with the team when something should be a Bug vs. a sub-task/checklist item

• Avoid putting many unrelated bugs on the same card, because it becomes hard to report and prioritize

• If the bug blocks the original task from being completed, use a blocking link or workflow rule so it is visible before closing the task
