Board Loses Data Switch Project Setting

I have a board titled "Limo Board" and it is setup as Business project, I want to convert it to a Software project because I want to be able to add columns. When I make the switch all of the information in the boards is transferred  . 

How can I transfer the boards data from one project setting to another.

Hello,

Boards do not store data. They just represent data by JQL filters defined in them. That is why you do not convert a business board, but the business project to a new type of projects. All issues in the project stays with the converted project.
