Board Assignee bug?

Since last week, our JIRA board has been buggy. Random users gets assigned to a task but not really. You'll see their profile photo on a task but once you click on it to see a detailed view, it's actually unassigned or assigned to another person. It's especially annoying since when you click the Assigned to me button at the top, it filters even if it's bugged out, so you get false assigned tasks.

Has anyone here ever experienced this?

We are using the classic kanban board. NOT next gen. It seems to only show on classic Kanban boards.

that sounds really odd to be sure. I'm not sure I have any ideas of what to look at. What if anything has changed? Any smoking-gun that would lend a clue as to the cause? Do you have any addons? I would certainly suspect something there as a potential culprit. Ultimately, you may need to reach out to Atlassian Support so they can log into your instance and have a look.
