Blank gadgets after upgrade to 7.12

Hello,

Since upgrading from 7.11.1, some of our gadgets on dashboards are coming up blank; the version report gadget is a good example. 

A version report gadget will make a POST to /plugins/servlet/gadgets/makeRequest, and since the upgrade this is returning a 400:

Any ideas where we can start looking to fix this? Or is it a bug in 7.12?

Welcome on Community!

Have you checked the logs for more details maybe? Also, have you backed up and restored your server.xml, most of the time during upgrades it's overwritten and you can loose proxy settings for instance which usually lead to gadget errors.

Thanks for the reply. The server.xml file is the same as the pre-upgrade version (checked from a pre-upgrade backup)

We've checked the logs - there's nothing immediately obvious as to the cause. What I'd really like to see is the log impression that goes along with the screenshot above - where does Tomcat drop those?
