BigPicture - how to split tasks in the middle

Gabriel Dekel April 26, 2020

I have created a small program in the BigPicture and created Gantt with links between tasks ("has to be done after) and baseline.

Now, a new and urgent issue has created and must be done in the middle.

For example:

The order of the original program was:

Task A ---> Task B ----> Task C

Now:

Task D was created and must be done in the middle of Task B (Task B was already started).

Due to that, the rest of Task B & whole Task C will be delayed.

How can I split Task B in the middle so I could represent the change and the delay?

(There is only one resource).

 Can I show something like this?

Task A ---> Task B (part1) ----> Task D ---> Task B (part2) ----> Task C

Hi Yakir

I recreated your scenario, as pictured.

The BU-16 task is "in progress".

Created your Task D, it's BU-44 in the screenshot below.

Cloned the BU-16, so that BU-46 was born.

Recreated the end-to-start links between the tasks.

Deleted the baseline of BU-16, so that the baseline of BU-46 stands for the overall delay.

Yes, your scenario is doable to me.
