Hi there.
We are running Jira & Confluence in the cloud.
I have been investigating backup and restore of Jira.
What I know so far:
1. A backup always includes everything of a Jira instance including users.
2. A Restore always restores the whole set of data in the backup.
3. It is not possible to restore just one project or one issue
Is there a best pratcice for this or does anyone know of an app or any other way to create backups and restore in a "normal, standard" way?
Hello @Klaus Charlier ,
Welcome to the Atlassian community!
Take a look at GitProtect, a backup and Disaster Recovery software, for Jira Cloud, Jira Work Management and Jira Service Management. With the backup and restore solution, you can easily automate your backup processes and create different backup plans to suit your needs. Moreover, when it comes to restore, the solution provides a wide range of options - point-in-time restore, granular recovery of only selected data, restore to the same or a new account, Cloud-to-Cloud / Cloud-to-local restore, restore to your local device, etc. You can find out more about GitProtect on Atlassian Marketplace: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1228719/gitprotect-io-backups-for-jira-cloud?hosting=cloud&tab=overview
If you look for the backup and restore best practices, take a look at this article - Jira Backup Best Practices. It covers all the necessary aspects that the backup plan should cover.
Thanks,
Daria
