Before I try Jira Core, is it possible to manage kanban boards when using a server?

I want to manage multiple team kanban boards in Jira core using our server. This would include viewing the kanban board, and creating / moving / completing tasks. I would want to track resources across these teams as well.  Can this be done with Jira core on a server?

Jira Core only has simple "business boards".  These are Kanban-like and do your create/move/complete, but have no configuration settings.  Things drop off them after they've been done for a fortnight, columns are 1:1 with status, and they don't have resource tracking functions.  Plus, these boards do not exist on Server, only Cloud.

For boards on Server, you'll need Jira Software.  (I.e. Jira Core with the Software application added)
