Hi guys!
My team and I are getting pretty annoying messages saying "We couldn't save your comment" since last week.
We create a comment, attach files, and after saving, see this. (But not every time)
There is nothing EXTRA in formatting, just Jira bulleted lists, some text formatting, and standard attachments. Nothing like this happened 2 weeks ago yet.
It's especially annoying when my comment contains many attachments and I have to spend much time to reattach each of them again. It's a waste of time.
We discussed it with the team and noticed that it usually happens when we create our comment longer than 10 mins without saving. (But if you save after each word, there is no such issue.)
Hopefully, the issue will be resolved soon!
Thanks.
this message is usually not lying.
In Jira Cloud the comment field has a hard size limit (arround characters) anythin is counted, including hidden formatting / editor markup, pasted tables, inline images/GIF embeds, etc.

Sometimes an error might show a generic / misleading “couldn’t save your comment” error around attachments/editor state.

Steps you can take:
Thanks @Marc -Devoteam-
We do so (and waste much time). Hopefully new updates will bring some relief.

Thanks for the answer. But it feels that the problem is not with formatting, but with the attachments.
I attach files while creating my comment. Then I try to save the comment and I see the error. I have to remove all attachments and save again without them. After that I reattach my screenshots and save. And it doesn't even mean that this time saving will be successful!
Yesterday I had to reattach 10+ screenshots 4 times before the comment was finally saved.
And as I said before, the team faces this issue since last week a few times a day. We didn't have it so often 2 weeks ago. So we believe that new Jira updates brought some bug.

I understand but anyway that would fit, because your Comment look Horrendous Big, or Atlassian made recently some Changes.

The error message doesn't say that the comment is too long. That message was reported in https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Jira-questions/How-to-get-rig-of-the-error-quot-We-couldn-t-save-your-comment/qaq-p/3201056#M1171022.
Anyway, thanks for help!
We will continue to suffer...:)

Yes, and One small Advice.
Avoid such Big Attachments with such amount of Content. That what you pasting there, looks for me more like Content for Confluence which handle that much better.
