Hi all,

Has anyone experienced Jira removing your backlog items?

Today, as I've connected, I could see the sprint open but 0 backlog items, even though I've had several.

If you have experienced any such predicamenet, how did  you get your backlog back?

Thank you in advance.

Simona

Hey @Simona M ,

Question - are other users on the site also experiencing this issue? There isn't any incident reported when it comes to Jira (or any other Jira family app) > see official Statuspage.

Maybe try checking if there are any filters turned on/enabled for the backlog view of your space 👀
What you could also do is to check All work/List views. These should display all work items in your space and with that, you can confirm if work items are visible within the space itself.

On top of that, try checking the board configuration to see which filter the board is using and how statuses are mapped to columns. 🤔

If you could share any screenshots or some other information, I guess that would be helpful.
*just a note that this is a public forum so keep that in mind while sharing info

Cheers,
Tobi

From my experience, it is usually because of the change on the board filter or change on the statuses mapping.

  • Go to the related project's board and click "Configure". Note that you should be admin of this Board in order to configure.
  • Then, check the Filter Query (or the filter itself) if you can see the items that should be in Backlog.
    • If you can see the items move on the next step
    • If can't, edit the filter query and save the filter
  • Next, go to the Columns/Statuses and check if the status for backlog items (Backlog, Draft, Open, etc.) mapped to anywhere or not.

If both are OK, please post a few screenshots here so we can help better.
