Hi all,
I am currently struggling with the following situation:
An email is sent to Jira from a web form.
Sender is always the same.
Jira creates a ticket from this email.
This was solved with a mail handler in the incoming mail.
https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/create-issues-and-comments-from-email/
The default reporter is currently the "Automation for Jira" user.
Now I am trying to trigger an automation as soon as such a ticket is created.
Apparently the trigger "Issue created" does not work in this use case.
Apparently the automation does not recognize when a ticket is created by email. (At least that's my impression)
Does anyone have a solution on how to deal with this situation?
In general, my automation is running (trigger: manual or ticket edited).
The only thing I can think of now is to make the whole thing scheduled, which I find very unattractive.
Any advice is welcome.
Greetings
Jochen
Please take a look on this question - https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/Incoming-mail-handler-quot-Create-issue-quot-does-not-trigger/qaq-p/1467829

For all searching: "Automation for Jira" is not a good choice as default reporter because in this case Issue created is not triggered in automations.
I am thinking of creating another account not related to a person.
Thanks Sebastian for giving the solution!
Best regards
Jochen
