Automation sending alert for all opened issues (one alert by day)

Ismail El Hammoud January 27, 2019

Hello,

Could you please help me to know how Jira sends an alert of all opened issues, everyday at 00h for example.

I searched and I found we can subscribe to filter that allows us to be alerted by email.

But what I'd to do is to send an email to another person so he doesn't have to subscribe, he will receive this alert by e-mail.

@Ismail El Hammoud, welcome to the Community. You simply need to do the following:

  1. create a group w/ those you wish to alert. if it is only a single person then skip this step.
  2. create and save a filter that captures what you want to share in the alert, e.g. status !=done
  3. edit the filter details and add a subscription. Set it up to run daily and add the group from #1 or simply add the user you wish to send to.

that should do it.

Thanks @Jack Brickey,

I'll try to handle that and get back to you.

Hello @Jack Brickey

I tried what you said, but I don't find how to create a group ? or just add someone ?

I can only send the alert to me.

Please advise !

Thanks

are you an admin for your Jira instance? You will need to be to create a group. If you are and you are on Cloud then go to Jira Settings > User management > Groups > create group, add members. If you are on server it is similar but not precisely the same.

If you are not an admin you can ask the admin to do this for you.

Then you should be able to select the group for the subscription.
