I have created a rule so that when I add a user to a custom field (Reviewer), they will receive notification by email.
However, the email is not correctly displaying the user name with the following string:
[~accountid:{{Reviewer.accountId}}]
I copied it directly from the Help page and replaced 'Squad Leader' with 'Reviewer' as that is the field I created.
Can anyone help, what am I doing wrong? the email sends, but just doesn't display the correct name, it displays [~accountid], e.g.:
Hi [~accountid:], you have been added as a reviewer of draft documentation for this issue. |
Hi Suzy,
So the Squad Leader field works, but the Review doesn't? Are they the exact same type of field? Meaning both single user picker? Or is one a multi user picker?
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
The Squad Leader field is just an example.
My field is multi user.

Squad Leader is a multi-user field? And it works?
Or it is a single user field and works and Reviewer is a multi-user field?
I suspect the second statement which is why that's not working - it doesn't know which one to get.

Ah ok, that makes sense. Even if there's only one value in the field?
Squad Leader is taken from the Help page - so I copied the formula from the Help Page and replaced 'Squad Leader' with my own field, 'Reviewer'
Hope that makes sense.
I will try it as a single picker field and see if that works. thanks!

Yes, even if there is just one value - it doesn't like that it is a multi-user field in general. Jira is fussy like that sometimes. :-)

OK it's still not working. Must be something to do with my project. It's a Business project not a Company one.
thanks for helping anyway.

I just edited the field to be single picker only. Should I just delete the field and start again?

Is this a Team-managed project? And if so, yes!
If it is a Company-managed project, you wouldn't even be able to edit the field type.
