Hi @shruti_rupani -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

The audit log indicates the parent work item type is unable to make the transition.

Does the workflow for that work item type support that status and transition, as the the work items appear to be in different projects?

Regardless of that symptom, the scenario you describe confuses me as it creates a circular update pattern:

  • when the parent transitions status, you want to transition its child work items
  • when a child work item transitions status, you want to transition its parent

It is more common to only do one of those things.

What problem are you trying to solve?  That is, "why do this?"  Knowing that may help the community offer other suggestions.

Kind regards,
Bill
