Hi all,
I'm looking to create an automation that completes an action if a certain selection has been made (which uses a dependent drop down field).
To do this I:
- Create the automation
- Create a issue field condition (in an attempt to define the criteria based on the dependent drop down)
- Look to select my dependent drop down field as the one to check
- However my dependent drop down field is not visible in the list.
Whenever I complete this on other field types (that aren't dependent drop down type) - for example a text box or even just a normal drop down box - I can find my field and the automation can be completed.
Is this a limitation of Jira or am I missing something?
Thanks,
George
Hi @george.guthrie -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
I do not know why, but some fields are not listed for the basic field condition. Instead please use the advanced compare condition and check the field's smart value.
If you have trouble identifying your field's smart value, or custom field ID, please use the information in this how-to article to find it: https://support.atlassian.com/cloud-automation/docs/find-the-smart-value-for-a-field/
Kind regards,
Bill
Thanks Bill - really appreciated for your reply! I will give that a go!
