Automation Rule Getting Failed, Some conflict with permissions. Need Help

Saad Ahmad March 5, 2025

Hello,

I have several automation rules configured. One is, that when status transitions from A to B, a task should get created under the epic and assigned to person X.

I tested and validated in pilot, now when I have added actual users to project, and they are transitioning epics, the rules are getting failed, and I'm getting below error.
Im unable to track the reason.

"Actor does not have permission to view one or more issues, or the issue was deleted (please check permissions and issue security levels)"

I checked the permission scheme, I have granted right permissions to the user and I'm not using any issue level security scheme in my project.

need urgent help.

Hello @Saad Ahmad

When asking for help with an Automation Rule the answers often depend on how the rule is constructed. Please provide the following:

  1. Screen images that show your entire rule
  2. Screen images of the Rule Details page
  3. Screen images showing the details in the Audit Log for the rule execution with all the entries within the log expanded to show all details.
  4. The details of any steps that are creating variables, starting a branch with Advanced Branching, and steps that are using smart values.

Thank you for that additional information.

Can you provide the information requested in #2.

Specifically I'm interested in the project scope of the rule and the rule Actor.

@Trudy Claspill i have several rules in the project and none of them are working now.
it happened after I added people to the project and assigned them project roles.

My users are added to user groups.

in permission scheme, I have given permissions on project role level

and at project, In People section, Im adding user groups and have assigned project roles.

May be some issue with the permission scheme it seems, but I don't know what it's

What is the Type of the project specified for this rule?

If it is a Company Managed project review the Permission Scheme used by the project and ensure that the role atlassian-addons-project-access has been granted all the permissions.
