Automation: Email when Work Item Done

Hi, I've had a look and a bit of a play but can't seem to nail this - I'm looking to create an automation to send an email notifying when a work item that belongs to a certain parent is marked as done.  Is there a way to do this, and if so, how?

Welcome to the community!

You can do the following:

1. Trigger:
   • Use "Issue transitioned"
   • Configure it for transition to status category Done
2. Condition:
   • Add "Issue fields condition"
   • Check that “Parent” matches a specific issue key (e.g., ABC-123)
     (Alternatively, use labels or custom fields on the parent and compare via smart values if needed)
3. Action:
   • Add “Send email” or “Send custom email”
   • Use smart values like {{issue.key}} and {{issue.parent.key}} in the email content
