Hi all,
I need your help as I struggle to find a solution.
Here is my case:
On Jira Software Cloud with project company managed,
As we have many issues to create, we are importing a CSV files in order to create them.
Some of these issues are linked to each other with a link "is blocked by".
As example :
Issues A et B are both blocked by Issues 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Furthermore my issues A et B contains a label field called "is blocked by" where we record the issues summary (so here: 1, 2, 3 and 4) that block issues A and B.
So I wish create an automation rule that is able to :
1. read this label field to find the issues that need to be linked
2. set the links between the issues
Do u know how to do this?
Is there any better way to do so?
Thanks a lot for your help
Hello @Adrien Ferrari
Which issues are being created during the CSV import? Are all the issues you named (A, B, 1, 2, 3, and 4) being created during the same import session?
Into what type of project are you importing the issues?
- Team Managed or Company Managed?
- Software, Service, or Work Management?
It is possible to create links between issues during the import of the CSV file.
Thanks for your reply.
We are working on Jira Software with Company managed project :
And so, I am looking for an "easy" way to set the links : Issue A is blocked by Issue 1, 2, 3, 4.
As you described in your message, we can do a 2nd CSV import in order to set the links between issues. But preparing the CSV files will time consuming. As example : OCS_MHQD0012_MHQD1244 and TRANS_MHQD0012_MHQD1244 will be blocked by these 8 issues:
I was hoping with Automation we can set these links. So maybe using a custom field in POP and Hydro issues where we record "MHQD0012_MHQD1244 ", then Automation will link all the 8 Hydro and Pop issues to the issues summary containing "MHQD0012_MHQD1244" .
I am certainly quite ambitious, that's why I need your suggestions :)
