Hi
On the x business day of the month I want to create a hierarchy.
1. Needs to auto calculate progress (so if im using time - auto calc time, or
2. Needs to have 'child issues' with different due dates, the same status options, different assignees
3. Needs to be able to visually see people on task and subtask in the normal board.
What is the best solution? How do i Link things when the task I am creating is not the trigger task?
I cant seem to make something with its dependencies triggered by a date very easily - or am i just not looking?
{{now.xxxxx}} - for dates is working - but cant link tasks
Hi @terry.rankine -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
What have you tried thus far to solve this?
If you have an automation rule which is not working as you expect, please post images of the rule and the details of the audit log showing the execution. Those may provide context to help.
If you are just getting started, please take a look at the Scheduled Trigger to start your rule, and when you create issues, you may reference them to form links to each other.
Kind regards,
Bill
version 1:
calendar trigger
create epic
Branch "for all created issues"
create issue type: story
Epic link: copy from epic
This Fails

Thanks for that information...
Am I understanding correctly that the problem is the linking is not working?
If so, try changing the set of Epic Link to "Copy from Issue", as that will use the current issue you are branching to: the just created epic.
