Automatically change fields when ticket status changes in Next Gen?

Deleted user

Hello,

In Next Gen, is there a way to automatically assign a ticket to a user once the status changes and add parameters?

For example - If a ticket moves to a certain column and has a certain label on it, I want it to automatically be assigned to me.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Sami,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

To automatically assign a ticket to a specific user or change any fields when an issue is transitioned, you can use the Board rules of Next-gen projects. These are the steps:

- Navigate to your next-gen project board

- Click on the three dots icon > Manage Rules

- Select the rules you would like to apply, what users/fields you would like to assign/update in the issue and on which transitions it should be performed:

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. What I'm trying to do is what you've mentioned above but with an added parameter.

For example, if a ticket gets moved into a specific column and has a Label of A, automatically assign that issue to Person X.

If a ticket gets moved into a specific column and has a label of B, automatically assign that issue to Person Y.

Hello Sami,

Thank you for your explanation.

Unfortunately, the board rules cannot be applicable only to determined issues with pre-defined parameters, so I'm afraid this condition cannot be configured. In fact, even Classic projects post function cannot perform this kind of condition ("IFs") using workflow post functions.

That been said, the only option I can think to achieve this scenario would be to use a third-party app. Automation for JIRA Cloud can easily achieve this, by configuring the following rule:

Automation for JIRA Cloud have 300 free executions per month, so maybe this can be a free workaround depending on how big is your dev team.

Please, let me know if this information helps.
