I manage a project where we use a JIRA Kanban board to managed a backlog of work we are tracking / working. We aren't an agile team, but we're trying to utilize the tools that our broader organization are using in the agile teams we have in place. Because we are a team of 2 people, I'm looking for areas to gain efficiency.
We do the majority of our work and communication through Outlook email. I'm wondering if there is a way to connect our email with JIRA, so that we can send an email to some sort of address and have that email create a story on the JIRA board. I have not been able to find information on this - but I may not be searching for the right keyword.
Hi Adam,
well yes certainly that can be done by setting up an incoming email handler for the project in question (Jira settings > System > Incoming email). However, that may not be the best way especially given there are only two of you. Why not simply use the board to create issues directly? There are also addons that will allow you to turn an email into a Jira issue, e.g. outlook integrations
You may also want to consider using Slack or Teams to create issue directly from that tool. In short, there are a lot of solutions it just depends on how you like to work.
