Dear,

We are reviewing Jira as a new tool for an internal ticketing system.  Jira would be integrated with another application via the existing Jira API to create new tickets.

However, when we create a new ticket via the API, the KANBAN dashboard is not automatically updated.  It requires a page refresh before the new ticket is visible for the user, this is off course not workable for the users.

When creating new tickets in Jira itself, the KANBAN board automatically updates.  I have been trying to trigger this behavior via the automation rules, but up until now no success.

Can someone please help us with this issue ?

Thanks and best regards,

Bart

Hi @Bart De Raeymaeker -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Short answer: that is not possible with the existing features of Jira Cloud.

This symptom is a long-standing one for Jira, and there have been many suggestions over the years to improve the behavior.  Here is one from over a decade ago: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-85662

Regarding automation rules, those trigger in response to some event (e.g., work item created), but cannot refresh the board a person is viewing with a browser.

Kind regards,
Bill
