Auto add Component based on Assignee

Hi,

I want to be able to set the assignee for Jira to then auto-add the component that assignee is the lead of.

However, i have a slight issue with this:

I have created groups (just to give visibility - the groups contain multiple Engineers and Testers) within Jira and i have made the Group as the Component lead - is it possible to tell Jira to auto assign the component based on the Assignee - who will fit into one of the Groups assigned to one of the components?

An example of a Group assigned as a Component lead is as follows:

Group = TheFixTeam

the following people are in the fix team:

Michael Myers

Jason Vorhese

Fred Kruger

Chucky

Once all team members are added to the group in Jira, a component is then created called TheFixTeam, and the component lead is TheFixTeam = anyone in the group TheFixTeam is automatically the group lead

Hello,

It is not possible out of the box. 

You would need an add-on to implement this feature.

For example, you could use the Power Scripts add-on:

You could implement a post function with your custom logic.
