Atlassian SDK is not letting me query for an issue by JiraIdentifier.

I get this response:
Response Content: {"errorMessages":["Field 'JiraIdentifier' does not exist or you do not have permission to view it."],"warningMessages":[]}

I can get all issues and see the JiraIdentifier field, just not query by the JiraIdentifier field.
