Our Jira data is in mySQL and is currently at 19G in size. Within the last couple of days we have seen massive growth of the database; 6G -> 11G -> 19G. We found one table, AO_C16815_ALERT_AO to be 15G.
Doing some digging we found that the AO_C16815_ALERT_AO table is associated with the "The Atlassian Jira - Plugins - Diagnostics Plugin".
Looking at the table's data it looks like it is recording every query that is run in Jira and i could not find a way to turn this off within Jira.
1. Is this normal behavior for Jira?
2. Can the logging be turned off or set to minimize what query it records?
3. Is it safe to truncated the table to reduce the database size?
@Marshall Richard not sure if you already saw the bug report but there are a few workarounds listed here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-69138
I'll be watching that ticket for future updates but it sounds like Option 2 is the safest if you don't want to deal with it and Option 1 works if you're willing to spend some time tuning the thresholds.
Hope that helps!
