Did you mean:

Atlassian CLI is buggy and seldom authorizes

Dustin Blair

Whenever I attempt to use the atlassian CLI, in any terminal on windows, I get an open browser to OUTH just fine, but the process never completes.

Why is this so buggy?

The Atlassian experience has been nose-diving over the last few years.

Hi Dustin,

The issue you're encountering with the Atlassian CLI OAuth flow not completing is a known limitation, particularly on Windows. This behavior is often caused by difficulties with the OAuth redirect process, where the token fails to be returned to the CLI tool.

To resolve this, it is recommended to use API Token authentication, which provides a more reliable and consistent experience. If OAuth is necessary for your use case, ensure that the redirect URI is properly configured and that your OAuth application is correctly set up.

For more details, please refer to the Atlassian CLI documentation:https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/acli/guides/quick-start-guide/
