Associating Statuses with my Kanban board

Eriks Blaschka March 5, 2018

Hi

I am trying to add new colums + "statuses" into my Kanban board.

I have created 5 statuses from "open" "Started" -> 50% -> 80% -> "Finished"
under Jira Software, Settings, Issues , Statuses.

All of these workflows do have (i think) my project workflow associated with them.

Nevertheless if I go to my project, Kanban boards, boards setting, I only see the default settings
"to do", "In Progress". "Done"

I just can't figure out where to assign my created statuses to the project.

I am using the "simplified workflow" is this the reason why?

If this is the case, how do I associate a  workflow to a created status?

Thanks a lot!!

That was it.  This video is highly recommended.  basic issue:  Edits on workflow will not show

if that workflow is active:

Copy current workflow and workflow scheme -> edit -> assign the edited workflow to the project!

That's not really right, I'm afraid.

Your problem is that a board is a view of issues, not a container.  Adding status to the list of status is fine, but you needed to edit your workflows to use those status as well.  Once you'd done that, your boards can use the status in columns.

As for the workflow edits, you do not need to do the "new workflow and associate" either.  You can add status and transitions to a draft workflow and publish it without needing to create a new one (you need a new workflow if you're deleting status or messing with status that have no transitions out )
