Associate stories in one project to a release in another project

Deleted user December 14, 2020

Hello Community

I have three active projects - and would like to have issues created in one project be associated to a version in another. Is there a way to create a version in Project 1 and have that version display when creating the issue in Project 2?

For example - Issue # 1 created in Project # 1 and issue 2 created in project #1

But want both those issues associated to a Release in Project #2

Must the issue be created in the same project for it to appear in the Release or can issues created from other projects display on separate Release?

Hi @[deleted]

Yes, the issues associated to a version in a project are from that project.  This aligns to the idea that a project contains the work for one or more products, and so contains its own releases.

As a work-around, you can create parallel (same named) versions in the different projects: manually, using automation rules (global), or with a marketplace add-on product.

Best regards,

Bill
