Assign a team to a story, auto assigned issue to me?

I've assigned an issue to a team, but then the issue was auto-assigned to me as well? (I'm a member of that team also).

Is there a way to assign a team to an issue and not have the issue auto-assigned to myself?

Hello @Conor Chocheles

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Are you just updating the Team field or are you also changing the status of the issue?

Assigning an issue to a Team does not automatically assign the issue to an individual. Check if there is an Automation rule that is carrying out the assignment of the issue to you.

If you expand the Automation area that should show you any rules that recently executed against the issue.

If you are also changing the Status of the issue, then it is possible that there is a Post Function in the workflow transition that is automatically assigning the issue.

Are you assigning the Team at the same time you are creating the issue? If so, are you also setting the Components field? It is possible to automate the assignment of issues during creation based on setting the Components field.
